5 Last Minute Halloween Costumes
Let’s face it – it’s the time of the year where that Halloween costume we planned with our friends back in July doesn’t look like it’ll happen. You might be doomscrolling on TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest thinking to yourself, “What am I gonna wear for Halloween? I should’ve ordered this stuff weeks ago!”
Since you might be cutting it a little too close to order everything you need for your costume, it’s time to start going through what you probably already have, borrow something, or even buy something small. So, it’s time to start digging through that closet to see what you can find!
Soccer/Athletic Player
I’ll be honest, this was a last minute costume I wore last year, but it was definitely one of my favorites. You’ll need whatever jersey you have laying around (mine was a kid’s Mexico soccer jersey), some shorts (I opted for some black micro-minis), and sneakers (I went with my Adidas Sambas of course). I even accessorized with some white frilly socks just to make it a little cuter!
Mermaid/Siren
This has been one of my go-to last minute costumes, I’ll usually wear whatever my favorite bikini is with a sarong or wrap, and focus on the makeup and styling. I’ll usually pack on the glitter, bronzer, and eyeshadow, then accessorize with some gold and seashell jewelry that I picked up from a thrift store and Amazon.
Cat/Animal
Being a cat or any other animal can be made super unique and creative! If you have any, and I mean any, animal print — just put it on! I’ve worn a random leopard print tank top with a mini skirt and a brown knit cropped cardigan since it was a little cold, and of course finished it off with some cat ears. Even if you can’t find some last minute ears, you could even take some eyeliner and eyeshadow and draw some of the print on your face!
Witch
Witch costumes are a timeless classic! Style an all-black outfit with some boots and a little hat, and maybe even a cape, and you’re set! I think even doing a green makeup look would be the perfect finishing touch to this last-minute costume!
Sim
Okay hear me out — this might be the easiest one. I’ve seen these costumes every year and I think they’re so funny and cute! You could wear whatever your favorite every day outfit is, with a D.I.Y. plumbob (the green diamond above a Sim’s head). All you’d need is a black headband, and some green paper made into a diamond!
Last minute costumes often seem to be unrealistic or even just downright boring, but it can be so easy and fun to make classic costumes fun and unique!
